problem... is it serious?

Leaving out of pizza hut my exhaust noise changed big time, it got deeper and started to back fire. I can hear this vaccume noise almost like a supercharger whistle its coming from the timming chain cover and its annoying and I dont know the cause of it. Is this Serious?

p.s by the time I got home my exhaust went back to normal and the temp outside is like 5 deg.

Doestn matter, if you have bad motor mounts it will rip it apart. It happened to me. Get under the car and kick the flex section around, even if it looks connected, it might just be barely hanging in place.

It sounded like I had a Civic exhaust on, I felt so embarsed to be driving in traffic sounding like ****. It could be it, and I already changed my rear engine mount yet when I put my car into rev or 1st gear and get it moving I hear a clank noise as if an engine mount was loose.

I went to my mechanic shop today and Well I also told them I heard this supercharger/turbo sound and that my exhaust sound changed, they lifted up the car and noticed a gasket between the cat. and catback was broken. They changed it and noticed i was missing a bolt on the Y-pipe, they put a bolt in there and now my car is very quite and smooth. But I still get this noise when I rev from 1-2K Its a very load turbo like noise. It dies out when the car hits 3k+. Anyone else have an idea?

you all gaskets were checked?

the sound is only comming out of the exhaust at low rpms?
the sound is only present when the car isnt fully warmed?

Full exhaust was checked from headers down to the end. 2 gaskets were changed on the cat, and a bolt that connects the front header to the y-pipe was missing, once he put that bolt on the front end got very nice and quiet. No leaks because they double checked. This turbo/Vaccume sound noise comes from the timing chain cover/belts/pullies around that area. The engine can be cold or fully warmed up and It will make this sound. Its very annoying, I got stopped twice because other maximas thought I had a turbo. Last time I checked there wasnt one install in my car lol. anyway Its hard to discribe it, Its more or less a hissing, turbo sound or a vac sound as in air is being sucked in or leaking.

then the problem must be in that area, I guess check all vacuum lines make sure everything is tightened, nothing loose, or have a crack/hole in it. it should be too hard to find if other cars driving by can hear it, start the car and look around, should find it in no time.
