I did an alignment on my car. The alignment machine I use has specs for all cars.

Go to a reputable shop and they should have no problems. If I went to get an alignment and the shop assis/tech asked me for specs, I would walk right out.

This thread should be closed. The allignment specs are either in the FAQ or in the SHOP TALK section on the main page.

Tell him to give you a huge discount for asking you the alignment specs of your car which he's suppose to know in the first place (if he has the right machine).

Go to a different shop. They obviously don't know what they're doing.

I wouldn't take the discount. If that person has to ask you something for what you came in for and what they should already know, walk out.

A good alignment shop will adjust lowered vehicles as closely to spec as possible (since in many cases the suspension geometry changes enough that the specs will be slightly off factory). The alignment shop I go will even adapt the alignment to your preferences (say you want more negative camber.)

I think there was a miss understanding..... I think the tech was asking if you had specs you wanted the car aligned to ... vs the stock spec.... all alignment machines have the stock specs in their memory.... your answer should have been as close to stock as possable

if they are using the hunter 411 or 611, then the machines should have the specs. if its on of the sun system, they should have them also, not sure though i have no experience with the sun's systems

The shop you went to has no idea what they are doing.

the only problem i can see them having is if you car is to low and you may need adjustable chambers and stuff.
