Auto Antenna

My antenna doesn't work since I hooked up my new head-unit amp and sub. Does anyone know if it's just hooked up wrong or is it somthing with power antennas or what? My amp and sub didn't work so I re-did everything now they work but my antenna doesn't ?????

With most aftermarket units, the antenna should only go up when the radio is on. It won't go up when using the CD player. I don't know whether this is the case with you.

depending on the hu brand, you may only have one remote turn on wire (blue or blue w/white stripe). if that's the case, then you'll have to tap into that wire to power the antenna & amp. if you tap into that wire you could also add a switch (on/off), so the ant is only up when the radio is on and down when the cd player is on.

Nitro is right. When I put in my head unit/system, I spliced the blue write to allow the antenna to stay up when the radio is on and when I'm using the cd player.

Most new HU's have a wire for the power antenna, check your wiring again it should be a blue wire. If not, you gotta do it like they said, tap in to the amp remote.

when i had my hu installed, my antenna would go up everytime I turned the power on. Then I had a switch installed just for the antenna.
