in process of debadgin. took emblems off but all the glue stuck on trunk...

in process of debadgin. took emblems off but all the glue stuck on trunk...

i took off the burger but the ENTIRE glue/sticky stuff is left on the trunk and the damn thing wont come off. tried bug & tar remover but it doesnt help at all. how do i take off the glue left?

yeah i read the stickies too.

credit card, and try to scrape it off,

I kept applying goo be gone and rubbing with a towel, it took some elbow greese but it came off clean.

use a hair dryer, heat it up, and roll it off like putty, and then use some paint thinner and finally get some rubbing compound that is safe for clear coats and go to town

dont use wd40. just use goof off. it works wonders. and is completely safe. AND use the hair dryer.

UPDATE

i used goo gone and wd40 + credit card and i fully got everything off the trunk but now the color doesnt match. the color where the emblem used to be is now lighter which is very noticeable. what should i do if anything?

lol too late. i read in faqs that a few people suggested WD-40. i guess its fine cuz nothing happend. on the goo gone bottle it said that it wasnt safe for SOME automtovie paints but nothing bad so far...

After a few months with lots of sunlight, color diference won't be very noticeable. Try to polish with a machine (polisher); will help a little as well.

bah. i knew the colors wouldnt match since sterling mist is kinda light color. hope it goes away over time...

I think you Max guys should keep the Burger on the back and nuttin else. I think that sh*t looks so hot. I forget who has it, but its on a Black Max and it looked so sexy IMO.

there was no difference with mine, but I used meguiars paint cleaner to get the goo off then polished with meguiars wax...

yea i used bug and tar mixture with wd-40 and have had no paint problems or anything it could just affect by the region u live in but i live in pa and no prob here with wd 40 on the paint
