use a hair dryer, heat it up, and roll it off like putty, and then use some paint thinner and finally get some rubbing compound that is safe for clear coats and go to town

i used goo gone and wd40 + credit card and i fully got everything off the trunk but now the color doesnt match. the color where the emblem used to be is now lighter which is very noticeable. what should i do if anything?

After a few months with lots of sunlight, color diference won't be very noticeable. Try to polish with a machine (polisher); will help a little as well.
