Max in an accident.. rear beam bent? Pics-

Well today was a very unfortunate day.. I was driving home from work, and somehow lost traction and mashed into a curb sideways on a new housing development road which was all snowy still. My left rear wheel had a head on impact pretty solidly with the curb. Was probabaly going 5-10mph on impact.

Right now I have the car towed at a body shop so they can look at it soon, but this is how it looks from the outside: Left rear wheel which had the impact is slanted inward and squished in. The other wheel (right rear) is sticking out a few inches. I looked under quickly and saw my rear beam (the one my RSB is connected to) has a little bend in it.

Is this bad? Can anyone tell me how serious of a fix this would be? I probably effed up some other stuff under there. Damnit.. would the shop have to replace the rear beam if that's even possible?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Dan

No pics but if it is bent repairing that beam is not possible. One can easily be found in a junk yard though. I had mine replaced with an OEM part several years ago for $900. Keep in mind that was a brand new OEM part. If you got a good one in a junk yard I bet you could do it yourself and only be out $200. Wouldn't be bad to fix. The question is whether the trailing arms or struts are bent.

Thanks for the info. I'll see what the shop diagnoses tomorrow and what they suggest. That's a lot of money for that OEM beam.. hmm.

Latinmax's car was damaged similarly - he ended up replacing the entire beam/ rear suspension because of it.
