Muffler advice?

Suggestions on a nice sounding muffler as my stock one is giving in. I have y-pipe and Brullen resonated b-pipe. I don't want ricey ripping noise, but I don't want it even remotely close to how quiet the stock one is! Nice loud purring at

Oh yeah, and also how much for your suggestions?

Borla Pro XS...it's what I'm getting. Nice deep tone and not raspy sounding at all. Check out Wicked Nicky's Exhaust shop on Ebay, their prices look pretty good

Hey, what up? I was the guy who asked you a while back for the number to that place in Medford. Carmine. Anyway, just to give you a heads up, I called him, ( very pleasant by the way ), and he's going to make me a resonated B-pipe in stainless and weld on a Dynomax Super Turbo muffler and a nice tip, in the very near future. Thanks so much for the contact info.

Whoa.......flowmaster in a car? I have the Delta Series 40 in my truck and that thing is loud (it drones sometimes but not that much). I bet your car sounds like a V8 or a loud american v6.

I'd say another 4th gen stocker or a 5th gen muffler.

So what series is your flowmaster? Do you have a y-pipe or b-pipe too?

Yeah, that sounds cool. I will PM you a day or two before I go. Probably a Saturday. I don't know if he told you or not, but he said he was moving to Revere, I think he said. I'll let you know, and maybe if you're around, I'll see you there.

I've heard Stillen, didn't like it, definately out of the question. Anyone have sound clip for the HKS? That's a pretty serioius investment for a muffler, so it better sound exactly how I want it.

This dynomax sounds very temping.... tell me more!

I don't even have pics of my car on the internet . If you really want clips start a thread asking. I know there was a thread some time ago where someone had clips of this set up. Honestly I really don't think you can get an accurate idea of what it will sound like over the internet. I'd advise that you just choose on how loud you want...worked for me. I think people here have a pretty good idea of what is louder than what even if they haven't heard all of them.

How about the Infiniti I30 muffler (sort of M3 - 3 series like) double tip,
ridges...

Anybody has that... I think that would produce a nice, quiet deep - yet growling accent.

Purrs at idle, deep throaty at midrange, growls at WOT, no raspy sound, even stock gets raspy with the b pipe changed! You want all the above.... best kept secret on the org maybe 20 org's have it! One word.............TOPSPEED!

( or is that two words? LOL )

Got mine for $110 shipped. Wopping 4.5" tip

TOP SPEED PRO 1 Performance

This muffler is specifically designed and tuned for the Maxima, just ask the guys at Top Speed. Also it's a direct bolt on to the stock exhaust no custom add ons like making a generic muffler fit.

Ive got a 5th gen stock on mu '96 with a stillen Ypipe and a random technology cat I could not ask for anything better. That variable flow muffler is great, you can still hear that there is some power when you rev, and no DRONE!!!

I checked out their site.... what model is the one you're talking about cuz they have a pile of different universal mufflers. I didn't see this one under the section specific to Maxima's? Can you get me the link?

Thanks

if you didn't have an aftermarket B pipe I'd recommend Magnaflow #14827...since you do have a B pipe I recommend the stock 2000-2001 muffler.
