hesitation and stalling

At highway speed, experienced some hesitation, like it wasn't getting fuel. On the way home, stalled at traffic light. Took several attempts to restart, then ran rough for awhile. Dealership ran diagnostic - but no codes found. Couldn't recreate the problem. Cleaned throttle body, added BG44k fuel additive. Seemed ok for a week, then experienced the same. Hesitation, then stalled at traffic light. Any ideas?

My recomendations are what you have already done. Have you been using premium gas? Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this.

Yep. Always premium. Daily commute to work changed about 6 months ago - only 6 miles roundtrip. Nice, but maybe causing things to get gunked up. Other posts suggest it maybe EGR, MAF, or TPS related. Another prob - don't knkow if its related. Attempting to "blow things out" under full trottle, trans didn't downshift - engine just rev'd up to 5K rpm. Could this mean trans probs too? btw - '96 auto.

Check my post. I'm having the exact same problem. Maybe you'll find some answers in my thread.

Thanks. checked the thread. So, sounds like I should replace the fuel filter and check the coil packs.

Keep checking the ECU for codes. You could have a faulty fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump might be going bad as well.

Hopefully it is the CTS. Not expensive and easy to change.

I was having cold start problems, that is why I changed mine. During this time though I had forgot to connect the harness back to it, and I got hesitation and the car stalled out when I came to a stop. The check engine light came on, and then I remember that I had forgotten to plug it back in after checking the CTS with my multimeter.

Check the CTS sensor with a multimeter to see if it's within spec. The procedure is outlined in the Haynes manual.
