hey guys. this probably wont help, but I have a pretty decent leak dripping form roughy near the front passenger side wheel. i know its not the oil cap, but its aroudn there. i also noticed that there is a buildup around the spark plug cover (head gasket in guessing). any ideas on what to do?

Sounds like the oil pressure sending unit...check here.

hmm, thats a very good possibility. I will defintely be changing that in a week or so.

what should I go about the engine bay oil leak? its actually dripping now, not constant flow, but a distinct drip?

same with me, but its my rear valve cover, could also be your camshaft seal

yea, i not for a fact that my front valve cover is leaking too, which isnt too hard to fix, but the rear, im not going anywhere near that, ill let it leak before i try to get back there and screw with it.

what do you mean about the camshaft seal? any further info?

As with any leak, be sure of where they are coming from. I suggest cleaning the engine bay of all oil, then check it periodically to find the origin of the leaks.

Sometimes the leak isn't coming from where it seems to be.

Before we do anything on a vehicle, we always clean it to make sure that what we are looking at is the problem. Most of the time it is coming from elsewhere and just dripping everywhere.

And jackiss2888 about what you said about the "headgasket" above, I think you were referring to the valve cover gasket...although I'm hoping you were talking about the valve cover gasket. Anyway, once you clean it, go from there. It makes things a lot easier.

Uhh you do realize we have a V6 meaning we have 2 heads on our cars, its the rear valve cover gasket thats leaking. It tends to leak right where the cam journals are, the OEM silicone just dries up and flakes away. The gasket cant do much by itself on the cam journals.

wow, didnt even notice that. I defintely meant the valve cover gasket. i know its defintely leaking from the front one because i pressure washed it off and saw it caked up again. are there any directions i can use or anyone can provide me with for changing those gaskets?
