VQ20DE
VQ30DE were the motors available I believe, I dont know if the VQ25DE was available in Europe but I might be wrong

I know the later VQ20s had the Variable Intake Manifold MEVI that we all want but not sure about the earlier ones.

basically its an Infiniti I30 exterior with the Maxima interior

in Asia we had the Cefiro Excimo and the Brougham, the Excimo was the 2.0 and the Brougham was the 3.0 that came with alot of goodies unavailable in the US

it has 3.0L engine

Button located right to shifter has three states:

1. normal
2. sport
3. snow

Switch right to the steereing wheel is for switching from gasoline to LPG.
One gallon of gasoline costs here around 1.5USD and LPG is much cheaper.

It's from 1995 and it has around 210 000km.

I've payed something around 6000USD for it.

Outside of Europe (well Japan and NZ anyway), pretty much all Cefiros have the MEVI on the VQ20,25 and 30.

Wow Tobex, you must be kinda rare to have a 3L car in Europe? From what I've been told, nearly everybody has at most a 2.5L or a Diesel. Did you car come stock with LPG or did you convert it? I've been thinking about doing an LPG conversion since petrol is getting expensive here as well, but for the price of the conversion I'd need to have the car for another 2 years or so before I started to get an actual discount on petrol Plus I'd have to either sacrafice the spare tyre or boot room

Most popular engines are 1.2 and 1.4 sometimes 0.9

cars with 2.0 and more are not very popular, 'cos of petrol and insurance prices.

Take a look here

http://www.fiat.pl/index.php?pid=25&id_model=2
This one is luxurious with 1.1L engine and 54KM

They used to make them with 0.7 and 0.9L engines.

And You can get a brand new for something around 9000,00 USD

One more thing

Chrysler 300 with 5.7 Hemi costs here something around 80 000,00 USD - without sunroof, navigation (extra 4000USD), and leather interior.
I've found same one on www.chrysler.com for something around 30 0000,00

Most cars here have engines close to 1L - starting from 0.650

Bigger engines are popular among mercedes and bmw cars. American cars are not very popular here because of high import taxes. Most of "global" companies like Toyota, Nissan, etc sell the same cars as in US but with the smaller engines and sometimes with different names.

Cars over 2.0 have much higher insurance costs, so most of the people choose 1.2 or 1.4. They are really nice city cars

LPG was installed something around 2001. Price of the conversion was ~1300USD for the LPG with the sequence injection.

Petrol here is much more expencive than in US, that's why LPG instalations are so popular.

Parts for my maxima

One more question,

I want to buy projector lights for my maxima - i got used to them in my previous car. Is it possible to buy them online in US and ship them over to Poland ?

In europe is hard to find extra parts for maxima's

Should I look for maxima lights or Infiniti I30 ??

There are no off the shelf projector kits. People here that have them have pieced them together with parts from other cars.

And you should look for lights from a US market Infiniti I30.

Theres a bit of a difference. The Cefiro is imported by car dealers on their trips to Japan to look for cars to import into their yards (NZ has no restrictions on car imports as we have no car factories). The Maxima is sold here new at Nissan dealers. Up until 98 the Maxima used to be assembled in NZ, but they now do all that in Japan. There are a few differences with the interior between the two cars like some Cefiros have stock TV's, and they usually have the VQ25 or 20 but other then that they're pretty much the same

I scrolled through to fast Nice to know Nissan didn't ditch the three position electronic switch from prior generations. I wonder if that switch could be wired along with the TCM from that car to use the 'snow' mode for those in the snow area's. I would imagine the 'snow' mode would allow the transmission to start in 2nd gear and lower shift points like on other cars?

The Excimo part is the trim level, like you have a GLE Maxima and I have and SL Maxima

Parts that fit the I30 will fit your QX Maxima, as will parts from the Cefiro and parts from the NZ Maxima. The only external parts that won't fit are those from the US Maxima.

I am definitely interested in what engine it has in it and what all of those extra buttons do.
No way- the I30 US grill is nicer IMO. YES- those buttons- Those buttons!
