dash rattles

I have a irritating dash rattle from the center ac, defroster vents and dash supports. The Nissan dealer said the dash supports have worn bushings at base of windshield, are the bushings replaceable or is there a fix. I was told to apply butyl tape to defroster vents. What about the center ac vent and how to remove it, the Haynes manual says to pull up and out, but that did not seem to work and I heard cracking, so I stopped pulling. Thanks for any help.

I have a 96 GXE with similar rattling noises. What I did was bought a spray adhesive, connected a thin drinking straw to it and just sprayed into the vents (left and right). This did reduce the rattling a lot. I don't have any noises coming from my center vents. However, it isn't that hard to remove. You pull the it outward and then upward, as you mentioned. You pull outward right under the rear defrost and parking lights switches. It will pop out, then just pull carefully upward.

Spray Adesive?......
Wouldn't spray ADHESIVE cause problems with parts sticking together? I use SILICON spray lubricant/rubber preservative (looking for the spray can to have a spray tube included with the nozzle) to quiet those annoying squeaks and rattles in the dash and elsewhere.
