Knock sensor harness
Hey,
I brought my car to the mechanic and he pointed out that the wire leading from the knock sensor to the connector on top of the engine was sliced. This was the problem, not that the knock sensor itself is bad.
He tried ordering the knock sensor wire, which goes from in the middle of the engine to that gray connector on top of the engine. 2 times the wrong part came because the connector didnt fit correctly on the wiring harness. I went to the Nissan dealership and they told me that nissan doesnt make the part anymore and I have to order a new harness for 90 bucks from an altima or something and then I have to buy the other wire for the altima to make it fit.
What is the correct part number I need for the wire for my 1996 maxima SE that goes from in the middle of the engine to the top of the engine? How the hell do I unplug the connector in the middle of the engine? I tried doing that and I simply cant get my hand in there to unplug it? Please help I want my horespower back!

Your "mechanic" is incorrect. That wire is not supposed to be connected to anything. The sensor grounds through the engine block, not the harness.
If you trace it back, there is only supposed to be one wire that connects from the car to the sensor, even though there are two in the harness.
