4th Gen Remote Control Question
I'm almost positive it is, I've seen a couple posts on this and I can't remeber the details of it, you can actually program it yourself; if I remeber correctly it was a series of turning the ignition switch back and forth quite a few times and then doing something else..... it's posted on this board somewhere, if you can't find it the dealer should do it for free, although don't let them sell you a remote though because they'll charge way over...
You can't use them for both if that's what your trying to do, you could have 1 remote for the 5th and 1 for the 4th, but not one remote interchangable with the two...
Also, just so you know if you hold down the unlock button the front windows will roll down (this option is near useless since they don't go back up)...

The post you described tells you how to program a 4th Gen remote for a 4th Gen. A 5th gen remote won't work with a 4th Gen. But if you wish to try it anyway the procedure is as follows:
Make sure you have all remotes you want to use with your car with you when you do this as you have to reset the security system for this procedure to work.
1. Get into the car and lock the doors.
2. Insert the key into the ignition and pull it out like 5 times in 5 secs or something like that. The blinkers will flash when you have done this correctly. This just resets the system.
3. Put the key into the ignition and turn it to ACC, just before on position, and press the lock button on the remote. The flashers should blink.
4. To program more, unlock the door, but don't open it. Lock it again and repeat step 3. This can be done for up to 4 remotes.
