i need new pads, due to burning of brake fluid plus, squeeks in front... need help..

hello,

i am new and a noob.. i've done back thread reading as i can't search. i am wanting to badly change my pads. i am settling on the axis pads. ?? unless someone recommends.. where online should I order? i know of importrp.com. what is a decent price to pay??

i am looking for tips and ideas, if i can do it myself.. i know it is easy if u know, but as a noob, i don't mind trying and actually want to try, i just need some sort of guide, diy or whatever... or maybe i can go to shop.

after pads, im gonna flush and do the fluid thing...

anyhow please help or suggest if doing pads is as easy as it seems..

say HELL NO to RAYBESTO

GARBAGE, JUNK, TRASH, WASTE OF MONEY, RIP OFF. what else can i say to describe R QS's ?

squeek like there is no tomorrow. grind like nothing else. and they wear down sooooo fast, its not even funny. only good thing is that they are low on dust.

STAY AWAY and get QUALITY PADS !

FIRST Learn what your talking about and then post up about the product.

I would never use anything other than rebestoes quiet stops..there great all around, in the cold, warm, anything, never qweak one bit...

yours must have been installed wrong bud

the Axxis metal masters work real well and they are rather cheap. The only problem is the dust like no other

i have raybestos qs for my fronts, and no complaints here. I havent had one squeak from them yet, and the dusting is absolutely nothing. I have only been using them for a little over 1000 miles so far. But no problems yet, and I am heavy on the brakes.

I also need front and rear brakes plus all 4 rotors. Has anyone heard anything good about DuraLast Gold brakes?? Wondering how they compare to OEM brakes when it comes to dusting and sqeeking.. Thanks

I went through two sets of Porterfields before switching to Raybestos QS and I have been very happy with them. They stop just as well and there is FAR less dust. I haven't noticed any noise either.

Bendix "import quiet" pads are OK....lots of grip, but really squeeky when you first roll out of the garage in the morning. after that they seem OK. I tried Nippon pads once....even better stopping, but squeeked and squeled all the time.

I would avoid the generic brands of pads, at least on the front. I have had good luck with wear-ever brand rotors from Advance Auto...i have used them on half a dozen cars/trucks. But, the max is my wifes daily driver....it will never see "fast paced" driving beyond the occasional off ramp.

what compound do u put on the back of the pad??

do u guys use the clips for the new pads? like put the old ones onto the new ones??

from the DIY by motorvate it seems easy. just take off the caliper and slide pads out, pack new ones in, thats it!!

ordering my pads should be in about a week.

Just go to Napa or Autozone.Works just as good as the rest.Since you don't do heavy breaking and alot of track.Save some money for other mods.

this sucks.. i think maxi pads for the 97 sucks.. i mean it keeps making sounds.. i d k what it is.. i checked the pad, plenty life.. rotar seems fine, no stress marks, but could be glazed?? quite frequently it makes a sound b4 braking but braking is alirght..

i bought new pads.. and since i still got pad life i might as well wait?? but today somethign wierd happened, i felt like and heard the pads scarchgint the rotars?? after awhile it was okay.. dang...
