Trans q.

On my 95 max (155xxx miles) recently I've had some problems when putting into drive (automatic trans). Before the engine warms up and i shift into drive I get about the same effect of rev'ing the engine up and droping it into gear, a big thunk and lurch. After the engine warms up its fine. I have a few suspisions.. one being a CV joint. The boot was out for a while (unsure of time be4 I replaced it) and I'm thinking this could be part of the problem. I also suspect bad transmission fluid? Ne one have this problem?

i had this going into reverse it was a torn motor mount, but i would

check/flush trans. fuild, clean screen
check cv by turning steering wheel and seeing if it clicks
with engine supported drop sross membrane and check rear motor mount, poly fill them while your down there

ugh.. now I'm stumped... I changed my trany fluid & filter.. she still hops when put into gear... but this only happens when the engine is cold. That rules out the CV joint and motor mount idea. Also now after replacing fluid when my engine is really cold it takes about 2000 rpm from the engine be4 the car starts moving. I think my transmission is dying

on a followup question... about how much would a shop charge to replace (parts and labor) an auto trans and also how much they would charge to convert to a 5 spd?

how brown was the fluid that you dumped out of there?

if it was pretty crusty, then your tranny might be hurting a little
