5th gen vs. 4th gen!!!!!!!!

Alright guys last night i went to test drive a 2001 maxima just for the hell of it. MAN this thing is so much faster than our 4th gen... wow i
i couldnt believe it... how is it that? its barely has 20 horspower more than our cars and weighs about 200 lbs more than our cars and still much much quicker?

same tranny in both? Actually a 00/01 max and a 4th gen are just about the same, the advantage going to the 5th gen on the highway. It is really just a drivers race.

your car is probly messed up, my friend jsut bought a 2002 se last night and i raced him on the highway and he had like 1/2 car on me and couldnt pull, we only went to ~100, ofcouse i have a ypipe, intake and some dieting on my car

the dealership let me test drive a 04 sti the saleman was a little nervous when i hit 120 on rt15 but he was trying to play it off

I drove a 2001 SE..Power wise, I couldn't notice a difference..However, steering and handling felt much stiffer and the car is obviously newer, so it felt more refined.

I agree, I've driven my mom's 2000 and my 1996. The 5th Gen seems way more sluggish at take off than my 4th Gen. But, I think the 5th Gen would kill the 4th Gen on the highway at speed.

However, steering and handling felt much stiffer and the car is obviously newer, so it felt more refined.
Yup, I think my 1996 is way easier to drive though. 5th Gens seem to tight and bulky.
