How much have you spent on your Maxima in mods?

I'm new to the 4th gen forum, previously had a third gen and I've noticed that 4th gen guys dump a whole lot more money into their cars. I'm just kind of wondering how much money other .org members have spent on their cars. I'm trying to decide if I want to invest (I use that word loosely) money in this car or my "project" car and I'd like to get an idea of what mods you have bought and how much. I'll start with mine but I havn't touched it yet:

-95 SE 5spd $2,800
-Y-pipe (included in purchase price) 0
-B&M short throw (included in purchase price) 0
-WAI (included in purchase price) 0

Total: $2,800

Ok, I added up just mods (no maintenance, or wear items) and came up with about $5800. That includes things that I replaced or bought more than once.

I prefer not to calculate that. It's more than I care to admit, even to myself. Make that especially to myself.

At least 2 grand since march of last year. Springs, struts, new headlights, HIDs, corner lights, audio, bla bla bla, and thats not including what i've spent on regular maintenance such as knock sensor, o2 sensors, oil changes, new tires. sometimes i wonder if it has all been worth it, and think myself...yeeeeaaaaaa

I've only had the car for 5 months and I've already spent $725. Not much compared to others but a lot for me.

The only plans I have are new struts, tint and eventually some 2k2 or 2k3 6spoke maxima wheels, but I'll wait on these until my current tires wear out. So all in all I'm about done and am happy with my car.

Yeah, I thought it was a pretty good deal, 125,000 miles though.

Nice cars by the way, I've never seen erty's or euromaxima's before but they look pretty hot.

I'm really trying to decide what I want to spend my money on, I might just spend it on the Z instead and keep this as a daily driver.

at least 3k

hell i spent like 5-600 in the past 2 weeks on my 97 bumper, cf hood, and stillen lip. that is the most ive spent onmy max in such a short period of time. and i still need to get it painted. i usually buy 1 thing every 2 or 3 months lol.

i dont consider the money i spend an investment in my car, its an investment in my happiness, as it provides me with a hobby (installing stuff) and showing off what ive done. :-)

The next big purchase (Matt's BBK or projector HIDs w/ new headlight assemblies) should push me into 5 digit territory. CAD though.

I often wonder how much I would've spent had I gotten a nicer car.

So far this month I have spent 1245.00 on the inside and will spend aboutht e same on the outside next month. I was going to buy another car but I choose to mod and keep it. The big upside is I only have one car payment instead of two. And also I really like the way my Maxima is evolving.

This is data for my old car that was wrecked, because I haven't really purchased anything new for my two new maximas. And it doesn't include money that I might have gotten back by selling certain mods and then using that money to buy other mods. It's a gross figure, not a net figure. Doesn't include about $1000 in stereo mods I used to have from previous cars which got transferred to the max. Also doesn't include the turbo kit I bought and never got installed.

Clear corners - 40
CF hood - 500
Aluminum dash kit - 275
JWT POPcharger - 75
Cattman SS Ypipe - 300
MEVI/install parts - 650
summit rpm switch - 60
JWT ECU - 600
fake TS ecu - 300
PR midpipe - 30
Megan Racing exhaust - 300
Warpspeed Test pipe - 20
Warpseed SFCs/install - 500
Vibrant FSTB - 50
KYB GR2 - 280
KYB AGX - 400
GC coilovers - 350
Stillen RSB - 240
Konig Verdict 17" - 600
Kumho crap tires - 450
Kosei K1 17" - 790
Toyo T1S - 400 (used 1000 miles)
Toyo T1S again - 600
M&H slicks - 300
SSR Competitions - 1500
Nitto 555s - 200 (used, barely)
Dunlop snow tires - 260
300zx calipers - 360
13" cobra rotors - 80
shop rental to work on brackets - 100
Hawk HPS pads - 65
hawk hp+ pads - 70
hawk hp+ pads again - 70
old slotted rotors - 120
various sets of old stock rotors - 120
Nismo 60mm studs - 115
$11110

Maintenance
transmission rebuild, clutch replacement - 900
control arm replacement - 270
alternator replacement - 270
ects/opsu replacement - 60
$1560

$12670 - I'm sure there are things I've forgotten too.

Heh, me too. That was back when I was making quite a bit more money than I am now lol. Most of that was spent between Jan 2001 and mid 2003, since then I hadn't done a whole lot. My bonuses at work got cut drastically, and I started my pilot training which costs like $16k a year. And keep in mind those are gross figures. Obviously I didn't have 3 sets of 17" wheels/tires at the same time, I bought a set, then sold, upgraded to a better set, sold, etc. When the car was wrecked I lost one of my SSRs, my rstb, and my subframe connectors

never thought about calculating how much i've spent,

hm, let's see:

95 5spd gxe-----------3600
tax--------------------150 (personal sales, we claim donation)
cai--------------------50
y-pipe-----------------210
apex muff--------------90
flywhl+spec2clutch+lbr--1115
short shifter------------35
indiglo guage-----------40
led interior mod---------30
sound sys total---------1400
viper alrm---------------free
dc clearz----------------35
head light mod-----------50
suspension--------------450
rim+tires----------------860
fstb--------------------40
leather seat upgrade----50
powerslot rotors--------120
---------------------------------
total--------------------8325

then i also did a whole bunch of maintenence replacements:
alternator, wiper blade, starter, cv joints, brake pads, etc.

and yesterday, i've just bought a 97 auto gxe for 5000 dollars for my gf.

so i don't know what else to say, owning a max is an addiction.
