Hi - Flow Cat and a super 40 series flowmaster muffler.....?
Umm ok this is the deal. My friend i work with, has a v8 firebird. He bought a universal hi flow cat for his car but didn't fit. He also has 1 super 40 series flowmaster muffler. he wants to sell me both for 80 bucks. I talked to a few mechanics and they said it'll raise my horsepower a good +30 hp. Well, is it worth it to buy? i mean i dont want my car to sound like a firebird or camaro? What should i do.

It won't raise the power up that much. With y-pipe and b- pipe you might get 18-20hp at the most. I have a flowmaster 40 delta flow and Hi flow cat and it didn't add that much power to the y-pipe. Sounds nice though.

How come you're saying i can get like a good 45 more horsepower, and someone else just said like 3 horsepower? which one is it?

DUDE THERE BOTH WRONG. THE freaken super 40 series flowmaster muffler whtever is like the best muffler in the world. that should give you about 45 hp. add the high flow cat, ohhhh man, you'll be smokin everybody on da streetzz.

This is funny and you are pretty gullible man! You should do your own research and read thru all the stickies. Ok, that car is totally different from you Maxima. Besides, the pipe size is something you have to check on the muffler part, Maximas use 2.5". Gains from that is 1-3HP. You'll only see about 1HP from the hi/flow cats. Random Technologies claim 2-3HP gain on dyno. Do the math.

well the tip is 2.5 thats why he's giving it to me.........so it's pretty much not that much more horsepower? like i wont even feel any difference?

nope, just like having just an intake yields the same gains. You won't feel it but your perceptive hearing being that the exhaust is definitely going to be loud might make you think you are actually going faster. I like to call that the civic syndrome but your car won't sound like a civic probably.
