97 Max is in the shop, I don't know why yet...
Hey Guys,
Like the title says, my 97 Max is in the shop with some tranny problems (I think). Ok, heres the deal... Sometimes when its cold, it will start, the RPMs will drop below 500, then climb again. As to other threads that I've read, this is not that big of a deal. After this, whenever I put it into Drive or Reverse, it will stall out on me right away. I'm at college now, so I managed to get it home over the weekend by letting it warm up for about an hour and took it to the shop. They did a flush and new filter on the tranny with no change in the problem. They said that there is something wrong with second gear and that the car wants to stay in high gear the whole time (thus the stalling when putting it into drive). I do trust this shop, but the only thing is that they are not a Nissan Shop, just a general garage. My question is, whats going on here?! Is my tranny shot, is it a simple fix? It will be going to the dealer this week. Any ideas would be great!
Thanks in advance,
Alex
