Cleaned Throttle Body

I cleaned my throttle body this with some STP Intake & Throttle Body Cleaner. I drove it around and throttle response has imporved tremendously. However my check engine light came on. Is this just because i unplugged the sensor that goes to the Airbox. Will it go away soon. Thanks.

I remember hearing the same thing happening to someone else on the org. If your throttle body was horribly dirty, it may cause the code. Reset it, and it you shouldnt get it any more.

The code is on cause he turned the car on without reconnecting everything, ie sensors.

check the code, reset and see if it comes back. If it something like what you were working on ie MAF sensor then it shouldnt come back.

That's not entirely true. My CEL has been on for a week and hasn't disappeared. It's a speed sensor code and it pops up every few months but as soon as I reset it it's gone for a long time.
