a bypass valve is something you put in the middle of the pipe so that if you hit a big puddle and the filter is submerged, the TB can suck air in through the bypass valve so you dont hydrolock your engine.

there ya go. i thought you were asking what a bypass valve was. i believe AEM is the only one who makes them.

Someone told me that you gotta cut the piping on the injen intake if you want to put in the AEM bypass valve correct me if im wrong though was just wondering if this was true

it doesn't matter what intake
if you wanna put a bypass valve on an intake you need to cut out a section of the piping to put in the bypass valve.

The bypass valve is an optional device that DOES NOT come with any intake setup. Check this link http://www.autosportz.com/airintake_...passvalves.htm
You should know that the bypass valve goes between the filter and the TB. See pic on the webpage. You'll have to find a way to get this to fit in the Injen.

if i heard right, it might affect the CAI performance. also no offense or anything, i would of gone with place racing, cattman, or bomz cai cause injens sit behind the radiator and we already had this discussion so i'll stop there.

you dont need to cut the intake pipe. you can just put it on the front end of the MAF sensor at that end of the pipe, which means no cutting. but like someone said, it will most likely effect the CAI performance, not that that matters on a maxima.

It's called stupidity! You can give a moron the right tools yet you can count on him to screw up what ever it is that he's going to do with it. Same with a car.
