i have enough for headers and was gonna get the cattman but was informed they are not worth it by the people who have or do own them unless your S/C theres no need for them unless you want a really really expensive sound besides the install being a mega mega biatch

Don't we all LOVE that new sound from the y-pipe, exhaust, intake, or blow off valve. Who cares about gas mileage when you can enjoy the vroom vroom vroom!!! Nice video!

Aren't those test/race pipes illegal, including the CM one? LOL @ 1-2 hp gains from them.

lol yes but then again so is a y pipe, anything that removes factory emission controll is illegal. basically the whole exhaust is mega illegal but its all good. my stock cat was junk thats basically why i got a testpipe then it was raspy so i got the custommaxima one which is the resonator style one. either way i like the way it sounds now

ah yeh i kinda wish i hadn't boughten it, well my parents did anyways but yes there are illegal as long as the pigs don't find out. CM reports this, they did a dyno by the way:
"We at first were skeptical at what kind of horsepower gain this pipe would produce, so we took a 1995 Maxima to a dyno shop and put it to put it to the test. An astounding 11.2 horsepower and 7.5 ft lbs of torque was gained when tested against the factory catalytic converter. "

I guess it wouldn't be too difficult to post that dyno graph along with the product detail to prove those gains, but why didn't they? True its resonated but is this considered a hi-flow cat? Probably not which is why its illegal. Just trying to get a sense of its benefits but I guess to each his own on this one.

well i would say if you feel like you want it get it its not like you can feel the differnce. it will make a bit of a sound differnce maybe a few DB. maybe adds a few hp but you can only feel any tiny little bit of differnce in 2nd on the highway passing. midaswell get the one off ebay lol however much it is it prolly does the same thing for less money.

All I can say is California emissions inspection is a biaaach! I am still holding off from getting a y-pipe because I'm not ready to hassle with emissions issues with the state.

hahahaha more than i can count...cattman, budget, lyell, custom and every variation in between including resonated, non-resonated (dont do it), stock muffler, big can, stock resonator, bigger custom resonator, basically everything except for headers. every setup is on video with and without testpipe. i know im nuts dont even ask about my other cars lets just say i try my hardest to find the best sound that i like with each car and i spend a good amount of time at my local exhaust shop...i think they like me there, they know me by name at least and know my voice when i call lol.

You should post sound clips from each setup to help some of us determine the sound we want.

Because of this:http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=327552 (Signature Picture Guidelines).

A good guide is 550 pixels wide at the widest. Also, please avoid extremely long signatures as well. 325 pixels will be considered the limit of signature height.
His signature is way oversized and it will be a matter of time before the moderators either tell him to fix it or they can do whatever they want with it. If he ignores the mod's warnings, then they can do whatever they deem necessary.

thats a really odd way of shifting it, you should take a 2nd vid without doing that whole shift and floor it but it sounds just like the standard budget.
