As for H&Rs, there's also a GD which sells them for $226 shipped, which is where I also got mine. I didn't feel like waiting, but I saw them brand new on e-bay before for a little less than that. It's your call, I wanted them fast so I didn't care to save the $10 or whatever.

Def. more Show than Go, as the handling actually suffers due to understeering and is said to be worse than Stock. Also, obviously the ride is not near as comfy as H&R's/H-Techs, nevermind Stock.

Don't forget either, that there are other things to take into account as well like whether the ride is level, raked or sagging. The list goes on tho, but I figured I'd do these 3 since they seem to be the most popular ones around. Just make sure, you know what you want and what exactly you're lookin for. Then ask for peoples opinions and suggestions on their usage of them.

Well it seem s with much pondering, I think I'm going to go with the Illuminas and the Tokiko springs where I have a 5 speed tranny. In maxmods they say stiffness and ride quality are about the same. And the Tokikos give you a little lower drop in the front than the H&Rs. Sound good? I've seen a few pics of 5 spd Maxs with Illuminas and H&Rs and the front does sit a tad bit higher than the rear which I don't think looks good. Tokiko struts and Tokiko springs, how can you go wrong?

Does anyone have pics of their car w/ Illuminas and Tokiko springs and 18'' wheels? If this is you, would you post them for me. I think I'm going to go w/ Illuminas and the Tokiko springs where I have a 5 speed tranny and it's lighter. The H&R springs make the front end sit too high. The Tokikos have a lower drop and according to Maxmods, the ride quality is very similar.

Still some wheel gappage.. still unsure whether or not to get lower springs or just stick with the tokicos. It's weird, my tokico drop doesn't look as low as other people's drops with springs which claim to be just as low as tokicos.
Edit: I also have 85 lbs of audio equipment in the trunk, so my rear is probably a bit lower than it would be otherwise.

I dont like it.
Not even a little. I even have another car when the ride gets sickening but this setup makes me nay trips above 30 miles.
The drop is nice but you seriously compromise ride and safety.

It throws the camber way off and its kinda hard to get it corrected and make it stick. I may change the tires setup as well 245 45 zr17 gives a nice bite but a helluva lot of road noise. 225 50 17 all around and some Htechs or an Hr spring will give you a similar appearance in wheel gap and looks (paired with above mentioned tire) and will ride a million times better. ....but to each his own good luck with your purchase!

Anybody here have Intrax springs or have used/rode in them? Just curious, cuz I seen an A32 I30 with them and I like the drop, a little lower than H&R's, but not too low/slammed lookin. Just curious if the ride is good, like close to H&R's comfort or bad, like as harsh/bumpy as Sprints & S-Techs. Thanks.

To sum, here are my options:
Illuminas+S-Techs: $560, drop that I want for looks, questions on handling/safety/comfort
D2 coilovers: $900, drop that I want for looks, fewer questions on handling/safety/comfort (I'm assuming this is the case at least, but don't really know much about coilovers)
Another coilover system: something cheaper than the D2s hopefully--any suggestions?
Edit: something like the Tein Basic Coilover system, although I guess it's not that much cheaper http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/t...s/dsp28-luss2/
Thanks a lot for all your help. Sorry about my indecision. I only want to do the suspension once and since new information seems to come up everday, this has made things difficult.
again s techs are a show look...i love the way the max looks....you definately get the "cut springs" wheel tuck look... but always I choose the stock auto altima on my 30 mile drive to work just because of the ride ..thats sad....and the handling goes to heck...way to much understeer...you will bottom out in the rear without custom strut mounts. (i have them) I cant enjoy the television, cant enjoy a conversation, cant enjoy the stereo on low voulme because of the ride and road noise...not to mention at 100 mph if there is a divit in the road. Remember wheel Gap is caused by spring rate and tire profile. Ive been to several alignment and body shops and they all said the same thing...car is to low for any comfort
The money for Coilovers is NOT that serious. There was just a Group Deal on D2 Coilovers for $700 shipped, it's over but if you stay patient I'm sure there will be another one or type of GD very shortly. You figure, $400 for Illuminas, $200 for S-Techs. So you're paying only $100 more for something that's gonna be better for you. If you want it that low and slammed and want a better riding car than yes just go to Coilovers, forget the Strut/Spring combo. I wouldn't recommend S-Techs unless you really desired the looks and was on a type of tight budget where $100 meant ALOT or were just used to a very sporty, harsh riding ride and could care less.
I don't have them myself, but I rode in one on 18's and it wasn't HORRIBLE, but it definately was enough to help me clarify which direction I was gonna be headin. Now, I know NC musn't have the worst of roads like if you were drivin up here in NYC, so you gotta take that into consideration as well. Overall tho, if you're lookin for such a low, slammed look then definately just go Coilovers, it's a little more but you'll be more satisfied with both, a lower drop almost tucked and the ride when compared to S-Techs.

Awesome, thanks for the advice man. Looks like the D2s really are the way to go. And I really should change my location on my profile, because I live in Rochester, NY, where the roads are pretty bad.
On another note, does anybody know where I can find someone to do the installation? Is there anybody from Rochester on the .org?

Also, if you increase or decrease the overall diameter as you're suggesting, you will be changing the overall gearing of your car. A larger overall diameter will mean your car won't get off the line quite as fast....
I'd like to know where Eibach's fit in this mix as well. Im going to go with the illumina's and would like to know ahead of time what to expect...handling wise...with this combination. Handling is my most important factor..I could care less how much it is or isn't dropped. Thanks in advance.
