0304 code gone after new plugs!

For the past 3 weeks, I've been driving around with a bad KS (0304 code from ECU). Last weekend, I decided to change my spark plugs. I've been using the NGK V-Power Coppers since I bought my car. When I removed the old plugs, the center electrodes were rounded-off as opposed to the squared tip. I knew the plugs were way over-due! Anyhow, I put a fresh set of plugs. Been driving it for 3 days now. This morning, I decided to check the ECU for codes and to my surprise I got a 05-05 (No Failure Recorded/Detected). I'm going to check it again this weekend and see if the KS code comes back. I'll also monitor the MPG to see if it goes back to my usualy 23 miles/gal.

Has anyone had this happened to them?

0304 dosn't always mean bad KS...in your case those old plugs were causing knocking in your engine.

For how many miles were the old V-Power coppers in there? Must've been way more than 15K.

About 30k....I thought they last about that long. That's what Uncle Sprinty indicated in one of his write-ups. The typical plats, last 60k.

Right, but I've heard that ideally you should change coppers at 15K. I guess now you've proved that.

Supposedly some hardcore guys who run copper plugs change them every time they change their oil. 15K is fine for me, that's not even once a year for an easy job.

Moving from Las Vegas to L.A., I put 30k in during my first year back. I guess this will be a twice a year thing for me.

I change mine once a year. Easy job. Cheap. And you get to see how your engine is running by reading your plugs.

They are good for 30K, but should be cleaned at 15K For the price, changing them once a year is worth it. If your going to pull em, spend $10 and get new ones
