Y PIPE: 2 piece vs. 1 piece

Ok, just wondering, what differences does a 2 piece pose to a 1 piece y pipe?

From what I heard, the Stone Racing (1 piece) gave some people problems when installing them.

I'm pretty much trying to get a cheap y pipe off of ebay and need to know which one has what to offer.

Thanks guys.

you get what you pay for... I went with a less $$ ypipe (budget) and ended up with a ****ty noise under my car that I cannot stand. Now im shelling out the money to get a cattman... Cattman >

Just get the 1 piece. The less pieces the better, imo

you've been on here long enough to know that 99% of people on this website DO NOT recommend stone racing anything. It is sh.tty quality. Budget on the other hand is supposed to be quite good for the price, $200 shipped isn't that bad for stainless steel.

hey just a quick question on preference, which would you guys buy, the cattman y-pipe or the custommaxima one? I'm getting a y-pipe soon but can't determine which one to go with. Is powergain the same? Sound? and quality?

I remember reading a thread, I think it was yours, but people had already begun to say that they wouldn't recommend it. By the way, hadn't you already ordered it when you made that thread?

it probalby wont leak, but its just antoher place to start leaking. they probably dindt wnat to get sued from ripping someones design or something so they made it a two piece to cover their own a$$. get cattman, i had WS andit was garbage, rattling and noises, cattman has this soft hum, i don tlike the hum, but its not noticeable after a few days of driving around.

I have the Budget stainless steel Y-pipe (one-piece) and am perfectly happy. It is lighter than the OEM y-pipe as it removes two pre-cats. Mine is coupled with a K&N panel filter. I didn't want a noticeable noise increase, hence no intake. At idle its exactly the same as stock, as is it at crusing. At WOT there is a bit of a growl which I quite like.

I would strongly recommend considering the Budget deal, particularly if freight is being thrown in. I paid C$15 for freight to ship it to the West Coast, ie. about 3,000 miles.

this is really a really dumb question, but im gonan ask it: when you all say "Budget", is that the brand or a general term for a cheap, generic pipe? i'm gonna get it for this one...

For those that have had the Stone Racing when did it start to go bad. I've had mine on for around 1,000 miles now and haven't had a problem yet. Could I actually be lucky for once?
