I just noticed that my outer CV boot ripped. I think it just busted as there is just a slight crack with a little grease in the wheel well.
It's the infamous passenger side. I know this is the harder side to remove. I just can find the previous post. Does anyone know?
I think my best bet is to replace the whole axle. I think it's only a few dollars more. What do you think?
Also does anyone know how much raxles.com sells them for. They are closed today.

a CV boot kit is less than $20 at a parts store. putting the new boot on is a hassle, but much cheaper. a new axle is going to cost you ~$100. either way removing the axle is your best bet since putting the boot on in the wheel well makes it even more of a pain.
Raxles sell for about ~$120 but have a lifetime warranty.
i have the same problem right now with my car...i think i am just going to go ahead and replace the whole axle. the only pain on removing/installing it are the carrier bolts and getting it fitted up where it needs to go.

passenger side is harder to install because there is a carrier that connects the passenger side axle to a long rod that goes into the tranny. the drivers side is really short and easy to manuever into the tranny. the passenger side runs almost the whole width of the car and is cumbersome. the bolts on the carrier are hard to access. fitting the passenger side axle in through the wheel well and across the width of the car, above the exhaust and around the PS pump takes some patience. the whole length of the passenger axle is double that of the drivers. just harder to work it. plus on the passenger side there are more things that are on obstacle (exhaust, PS, pump, suspension yada yada)

Oh Great! Well I'll have to figure it out and I hope I get it in properly. I dont feel like getting charged for 2-3 hours of labor. Should I phone a friend for this project? I'm pretty good with fixing things.
