*%&#^ passenger side axle piece a #(*&)@

Anyone got any ideas for getting a stubborn *** passenger side axle out the ****ing car? I've tried the push/pull instructions from Hals write up to no avail and I'm just almost pissed enough to take a grinder to the beyotch and cut it out.

Will the engine come out with it still in the bracket? If so I'll deal with it then.

did you get those three bolts that hold the bearing, right in the middle of the axle? if yes, then it should come out pretty easy.

Ya..got those out ok. And the axles wobbles around in that bearing but it's like the bearing is frozen in there or something. I can't pull any harder on the CV side cuz the upper boot is just trying to stretch apart at this point. The axle part that is on the drivers side of that bearing...can I just pound it out with a sledge hammer or something? At this point, I'm just going to buy a new Raxle one anyways. Or better yet...will it hinder the engine from being pulled?

I had to unbolt that bracket and take it out with the axle when I did mine. Then I was able to use some liquid wrench and bang the bracket off and put it back on before putting the new axle in. I also had lots of trouble getting the axle out of the steering knuckle since my cv joint was messed up, but that's a different story. I know all about that passenger side axle.

I just did mine yesterday.Take a flat screwdriver and hammer inbetween the bracket. If you don't see a gap then take a extension and hit where the bottom two screws go of the old cv axle and it should work it's way loose from the rust and corrosion. Then take the flat screwdriver and hammer the gap.Repeat this step with bigger screwdriver or something that fits as the gap gets bigger. Then you should be able to pry it off or pull it out.Don't forget to sand and grease the inner ring so that the next time will be easier. The new one slides in easy.Make sure the spindles connect and rubber hammer the axle in.Realign the holes if not straight with a hammer.
