Stone Racing Users Step Inside

The stone racing headers/y-pipe combo is on ebay for $290 buy it now + shipping

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33631

I did some research and it seems there were questions unresolved still about how much gain the shorty headers alone would give but with a y-pipe at this price I think its a pretty good deal no?

People who have them on their car what you guys think so far?

I have the y-pipe, without the headers. I seem to have lost a little low-end torque, but rev it up to around 4 grand and it sure does dance!! Quality is pretty good especially for the price. My fitment however was pretty snug, not a perfect fit. All & all I feel it was a good investment.

I just purchased them last couple of weeks. There was an issue with them fitting (Y pipe wouldnt bolt to the stock manis. My intent was to sell the headers and just use the Y. supposedly the y bolts but mine did not. They have yet to return my 320 dollars either, although I have received a smart *** email and ended up biting the cost of the shipping the item back. to their defense they said they would not charge a restock fee, but as of now the funds are still not recredited

I don't understand why people continue to buy this crap. That header set up is useless. Cattman's much better designed semi-long tube, equal length headers don't give much gains over a y-pipe and this design certainly will not. The type of y-pipe they use is designed to bolt to their exhaust manifold and will not bolt up to the stock manifold.

We have several inexpensive proven quality y-pipes to choose from, which have all showed great goins at the track and the dyno. why people buy from SSautochome is beyond me. They have one of the worst rep's for crap products.

Never, ever seen a dyno of a y-pipe losing power anywhere in the rpm band.

when i posted asking which was best i received pms noting that they were all pretty much the same. as stated i was looking to sell the headers anyway, and supposedly just like every y pipe theirs bolted to the stock manis (As it appears MBANDI's did), mine was over a half inch off on the second runner or front runner, either or was what would bolt, never the two would meet.
I ended up going with the warpspeed as a replacement item. shoulda went with theirs in the first place, had i received that info when i asked i would have.

I agree! I was just expressing how before and after seems to feel. I agree also that there are better y-pipes out there. This one came down to price, and what I could afford, not what I wanted.

You can get a full SS y-pipe from Budget exhaust for less than $200 shipped.

Lol...
SSAutochrome shouldn't be in business...

Any header/ypipe combo is not worth your money or your time.

Ok so theres little to no gains for this combo over just a y-pipe but what about sound? Do these provide that deep refined exhaust note?

I highly doubt it. The main reason why the Cattman headers make the exhaust sound better is because they are equal length. These ebay ones are not, they are just like stock but the primaries are just a tad longer than stock. Still unequal.

you would also have to match up the headers with a nice catback. i honestly dont know how they would sound (is ebay headers and stone racing the same thing)?

cattman has perfected the exhaust note with his headers and catback, and that is all i know for certain. We have so many mufflers, catbacks, bpipes, ypipes, race pipes, and stock cat combo's I have no idea what sounds like who ? lol

good luck with it, i agree with these guys, if its cheap and has fitment issues i wouldnt touch it, since there is alot of work involved, you need a plug and play setup.

In that case its probably not worth it just because of how much hassle the install would be.

and u can save that extra money for somethign else like a catback or whatever, its not worth getting those for the sheer fact that install would probably cost the same if not more than the product.
