help removing dash on 98 SE

help removing dash on 98 SE

hey i looked in the sticky at the top but the page is not found. how do i remove the dash board from the 98 SE?! thank you

the top plastic piece where the air vents are, that piece just pops out....use like a flathead and get underneath it and work ur way slowly around it.....then take the shifter trim piece out , it pops out also...then there is a screw for the "ash tray" on the right and after u take that screw out, just slide the tray off....then there at 4 screws that hold the center dash piece on...2 on top and 2 on bottom....and ur dizzoNe

I think he's wanting to remove the actual dash...I think it's just a matter of doing what rome said, then removing the gauge cluster and glovebox, then locating al the acrews/retaining clips and taking it off.

gauge cluster, steering wheel, pass. side air bag, defrost vents, the whole "middle section"... radio,ash tray,clock, ete.etc. you will see screws when all this is out. one thing, pull the defrost vents out, there will be screw you must pull out in there. console must go too. glove box, a buch of screws up in there. i took my dash out before, any questions?

Basically, don't do it unless it's absolutely necessary...

I was going to so I could hardwire my radar through the defrost vents down behind the stereo, but I decided to just centrally mount it on the dash and run the cord down a few inches and run it behind the dash trim.

im sorry i should have been more clear. i only want to remove the area where the stock radio would be. basically i have a friend with a 98 SE who has a tv in the dash that doesnt work. he has no idea about cars but i do. problem is, i dont know what the interior of his car looks like cus i have a TL. so im going into this kind of blind. does anybody have any pictures?
