how much $$ was ur Max. and how many miles were on it?
My story is a little unfortunate. My dad bought the car himself.... I scoped out the car for him and had told him it was a great deal and to buy it.
It is a 1995 Maxima (GXE or GLE)
with (when bought) 19980 miles on it.
Yeah thats right 20K miles on her.. an old lady pretty much owned it.
The only problem with the car is the body. The rear bumper cover needs to be replaced badly (NYC driving-bumper cars) and the car has many small door dings. My dad loved it, and now I do just as much.
So once I reach my total of 15 posts here, I will start a few of my own threads.... I need to ask a few questions about her. Anyway, later.

in 1999 my father paid $19,000 for a not so base SE-L, which i still think to this day is a steal, i believe it had 8 miles on it when we took delivery. Although its an automatic, and it has 75,000 miles on it, i still think it was worth every single penny.

Gold GXE auto bought it 2 years ago with 160,000 on the clock even tho when I got it tagged at dmv they said last time previous owner brought it in a year befor it was at 163xxx o.o... payed $2,250 . now shes at 184xxx and in need of some work ... a lot of work lol
I bought mine brand new, the list price was $29,400 in 1998. They were giving Maximas away with rebates and it was like $6,500 off list. At just under 23k, it wasn't really that cheap. It had 302 miles as it came from another dealership and I'm sure people drove it, as there were only 3 sticks among 15 cars.
Can you imagine, even in 1998, sticks were already unpopular? Today, the all new Audi A4 does not have one, the Passat CC got rid of it, and on and on...

Got mine for 10k back in 2001 with 20K miles on it. It is a 95 SE fully loaded 5 speed. Now I have 165k on it. Still running strong. Sad that resale value on these have not held up well. It's Nissan/Infiniti trait unfortunately.
Bought mine 6 years ago for $1,050. Used it as a work commute car. Currently at 241k miles. It's a 97 GLE, still runs strong, Only thing I've had to replace since last April is the knock sensor

98' GXE Fully Loaded
71,666 Miles
Bought 6 months ago. @$2800
Has power everything.
The ugly:
All 4 stock speakers blown (Planned to replace anyways)
Rusted Muffler flange, and pretty much the whole cat back.
Few tears in the dash (almost unnoticable)
A very dented fender, need to go get one from the junk yard.
In the last 1000 miles or so I've lost 2 of my struts.
I still think it was a hell of a deal considering its a good ole vq, and my first car

1999 Se Automatic full black leather interior Silver Paint had 149k miles on it paid $1200 for My Max about 5 months ago. Have replaced ignition coils, spark plugs, fuel filter, cleaned the Iacv, Egr, TB, and Maf.
1998 SE, 100 k miles. $1,800. Auto, 5 spoke 16" alloys. It has all of the avail option packages for the SE. Auto, full leather, sunroof, bose stereo, heated seats, fog lamps, etc.
Great condition overall. Interior like new. Needed exhaust system and complete brake job (rotors, calipers, etc.) Some rust - radiator support and passenger side quarter panel.
