Blown Tranny???
just yesterday i was going down the interstate and all i see is a cloud of white smoke and i pulled over and notice that my car was spraying transmission fluid all over the place and i really dont know what is going on with it. It still shifts fine and goes fine. I didnt hear any weird noises either. Any thoughts on what could be wrong????
Where did you see fluid being sprayed from? If you tranny was spraying tranny fluid then you wouldnt be able to shift.
I'm assuming it was probably coolant spilling but it was dripping off the tranny. White Smoke comming from the back is related to Coolant.
check your coolant level see if its still full.

this sounds like trans axle bearing went out, but you should hear some whinning. then again im not even close to being mechanically minded. just sounds alot like what happen to me many years ago, car had 59,000 miles on it. good luck with it !
Trans cooler line came loose?
What is the smoke from? If it's out the tilpipe then sorry for your luck (and it's not trans related) but if it's tranny fluid burning on a hot engine component like the exhaust pipe or manifold then you just need to find the source of the leak.
Check:
- Tranny cooler lines from the tranny to the radiator/cooler and back
- Axle seals (sides) or tranny front seal (leaking out the bottom of the bellhousing)
- Damage to the transmission pan (ouch)
- I have seen a disptick tube come loose in the past on other cars, and it would leak from there, but only after the car has been sitting for 2 weeks not driving. (after the fluid all finally dained back into the pan, raising the level above the dipstick tube seat o-rings.
If it leaked for a while and then stopped then it's probably going to be a leak in a non-pressurised area, such as axle seals or damaged pan. Once it leaked to a point where the fluid level is now below the 'leak' then it suddenly stops. Try topping it back up and see if it leaks again...
If a cooler line came loose then it would eventually pump ALL the fluid out - how quickly that happens depends on how big the hole is.
Leaking fluid is never a good thing. It MUST be fixed, don't ignore it and hope it corrected itself.
