Noise from rear brakes?

When I am almost at a complete stop I can hear a noise coming from the back of the car but only when I hit the brakes. Do you think my brakes need to be replaced? It isn't loud but you can hear it.

sound?

Does it sound as if the car was burping or something??!!

I have that problem.. I did my brakes/rotors and everything about 6months ago and when im almost at a complete stop it makes a noise which is alittle deeper than grinding.. i checked the brakes and everything is fine.. its actually just the brakes themselves.. My car stops fine..

Take apart your rear caliper and look on the caliper you should see a steel shim which is part of the brake replacement hardware. If it is loose it will cause the brakes to make noise.
