Airbag light on-How do I turn it off?

I had to get new front seats for my car, the new ones don't have the airbags in the seats. My question is: How do I turn off the airbag light that is blinking on my dash? Is it a fuse, or what? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you know how to do this? Does anyone know? I have looked at several of the FAQ threads, and haven't been able to find the answer. I thought it would be covered in one of the FAQ's but was unable to find it.

please dont just take out the bulb if the light is on its on for a reason, I think the haynes manual has a diagnostic test for the light, or just take it to be checked out.

Maybe the 2x4 in there needs servicing

I appreciate the advice, however I don't think you read my post completely. You see, I know why the airbag light is on, it's because I replaced the seats, my old seats had airbags, my "new" ones don't. Hence I wasn't able to hook up the airbag connectors, and that is why the light is on. Thanks though.

Long story, short version. I have a 99 I30t, that had the airbags in the seats, seat brackets were broken on the driver's side, so I had to fix this somehow. I called the dealer he quoted me $225 plus tax for a new seat bracket, so I decided to try and find some replacement seats instead. I found out that I30 seats are very hard to find, Maxima seats are much easier to find, and will fit my I30, I managed to find 2 front seats from a 99 Max for $200, so I did the swap, connectors and everything else bolted right up, just my "new" seats don't have the airbags in them. I just talked to the dealership again, he said that I may be able to retrofit the airbags from my old seats into my new ones, as it seems everything else is the same, that's my next project. To answer your query, I don't know if any of the 99 Max's had airbags in the seats, it just so happens the ones I was able to locate didn't. On another note, the dealer told me that now that I have disconnected the seat airbags, that my front airbags won't work either, that is until I remedy the problem. If the car detects a problem with any of the airbags, none of them will work, at least that's what the dealer tells me.

Ohh I didnt know you had an 99 I30, I was thinking Max, oh ok that makes sense now. well hope you can retro fit the air bags into the new 99 seat.

good luck

also taking out the builb for the air bag, is just a matter of taking out guage cluster and then taking out that specific bulb, there is a row of bulbs at the bottom of the clutster. take that out and no more light up air bag light.
