Need tips on removing the Auto Shifter on Console

Ive got everything loosened down to the auto shifter and shifter itself.
Its ready to come out but i beleive the O/D wiring is what its hanging on.

How do i remove the thing? I looked in my FSM and didnt find anything on it, looked in the 4th Gen How' to's /Faq's as well.

the shift **** itself? i had to cut the over drive wires to remove it. is that all you're asking or are you talking about the parts further down below the shifter? i never used the fsm when doing it but have done it a couple of times.

Yes thats what im talking about. I would rather not cut them if i dont have to. isnt there maybe a harness plug down there somewhere that i can disconnect them at or something?

Is cutting it the only option?

I just need to take it out to clean it up and change out my light to an LED

to add the led to the shift area you don't need to remove the shift ****. there's a wire underneath, i think it's in a blue covering iirc. you just feel for where it connects to underneath and turn it counter clockwise and you can change the bulb like that.

btw, when i added a new shift **** that day i just spliced the wires together with wire connectors, no harm no foul...now i can take it off when need be and just plug n play.

What happens if you cut the wires, and don't reconnect? My assumption would be that OD just stays on, and you can't turn it off since that's the default when you start the engine, but I dunno.

I know i dont technically have to take it off, but i figured id kill 2 birds with one stone..
the Light... Its been sticking.. my Shifter Lockout so when i go to shift from Park it doesnt disengage the lock. I was in an accident a few years ago and the Red bull got spilled in there.. I cleaned all of it up i thought but i noticed its down inside there too.
