thread for auto shifter screw is stripped...any ideas?

just as said in title, the thread where you put the auto shifter is somehow stripped. the screw popped out the other day and both bottum two are pretty stripped so i can't get a new one to hold them in. now my shifter is loose in the meantime. (which reminds me i want to trade someone with an i30 for their auto shifter for my Razo gun-grip shift ****)

anyone have any idea how to get a screw to hold in there? am i SOL or is there something i can do? i semi recall my stepfather using some tool to make a new thread in something, but don't really remember what it was...i guess i'll have to give him a call too. thanks guys

ha i've thought about it many times, but figure why bother. i'll wait til i graduate college and buy a new(er) car. plus if i had a 5 speed right now, i'd be screwed because i just sprained my ankle pretty badly friday and wouldn't be able to drive.

i'll have to go look for that tool because having a loose shifter is annoying.

tap and die kit with a larger screw could fix it.

use JB weld. You can JB weld the screw right in there. Or you can let it dry and drill a new hole.

Use a chaser or tap and die and rethread.
