high octane?

What kind of gas should I put in my max? I usually just put the cheap stuff, because it's cheap. Would I get better gas mileage with better stuff??

No less than 91. Go with 93 though.

no you wont feel a difference except for it burning faster. If you keep using the cheap shiet yur engine will start to ping and your knock sensor will go dead, it happened to me

Octane doesn't matter unless there's something wrong.
I use 89 or 91 and have since I got my car.

consumer report did an article about this. they say the xpensive gas is not always the smart way to go, except for the expensive and luxery cars that require em.

That same article said there were only about 6 cars that required hi octane. Waste of money.

My Neighbor works for a Costal refinery here in NJ and he said there is no real difference between the octane grades. The higher octaine fuels are less likely to have premeture detonation (less knocking and pinging). That's it.

I look at it this way.... If premium or the one right under is $.10 more, your only paying $1.60 per fill more. Not that big of a deal to me to make sure I have no gasoline related issues with my baby....

There's so much ignorance in this thread, it's mind boggling.

The original question is answered with FACTS in the FAQ.
