Full exhaust system replacement advice
Full exhaust system replacement advice
I have a 97 Max Se five speed with 186,000 miles on it. I'm wanting to upgrade and replace the entire exhaust sytem to get more power. I was going to go with warpspeed but from the forums that doesn't seem like a good idea. My requirements are that my car does not end up sounding like a civic with the dreaded bees in a can noise and that it won't rust and fall apart after 2 years. So any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I wouldn't go by what some people here say about WSP Pipes. Just because they aren't stainless steel doesn't neccesarily mean they will rust and fall apart in 2 years. I wouldn't doubt that they'd last 10+ years in a non-snow state, like here in FL. As for the bees in the can sound, the new WSP Superflo pipe doesn't have it, guaranteed. Your choice, of course, but I wouldn't really take people's "advice" to heart too much. People speculate about the Superflo pipe, but I am yet to hear about someone who has proof that it sucks - or that it's good for that matter. Anyone that has bought it and installed it, please step up.

I have a WSP y-pipe, test pipe, and OBX-h cat-back, and I love it! My only regret is that I got the test pipe, I wish I would have gone hi-flow cat or stock, as I notice some luls in power that I've attributed to that. I really like the sound of mine, it sounds deep and refined, not a hint of rice in it. Also, mine is fairly quiet until I open it up, then it screams.
So IMO, WSP ypipe is good, OBX-h catback is good, test pipe is not.
