99 Maxima Vibration In Front End Help!!

Hi,

I bought my Maxima new in 99. I was doing the brakes and the jack slipped away and the rotor landed on the asphalt. Ever since that time the car will vibrate when I go over 60 mph. The force of the car landing was squarely on the rotor. Nothing else hit the pavement. I'm wondering if I screwed up my CV joint and axle. Should I replace these parts. I tried balancing tires, new rotors, with no luck.

Thanks in advance

No. But the car doesn't pull it just vibrates. Do you think this could be the problem?

if you've already replaced the rotor, i would say the next step is to replace the control arm. it's section 10-7 in the Haynes manual. try ebay for a control arm at a decent price.

A direct impact to the rotor will cause damage to the hub and bearing assembly.

Thats most likely the cause of your vibration.

I found a great website that shows the removal of the hub and front bearing. The site is www.motorvate.ca My other problem is that I don't know what side has the bad wheel bearing. Is there a way to diagnose this. It's not apparent which side has the bad bearing when driving? My Max has 100k and I dropped it on the rotor at about 30k so I'm lucky it has lasted this far. After checking out the Haynes repair manual the bearing sound slike a good bet. Thanks
