I just got a 96 gxe 5speed and am looking to squeeze a little more power out of it. I have been told that a y pipe is a formitible upgrade that is not to heavy on the wallet. I have been looking around and found what I have thought to be a pretty good deal. On eBay there is a company by the name of Stone Mountain Racing offering a brand new racing y pipe along with headers for $250 plus $30 shipping. Now this seems a little underpriced considering the stillen pipe goes for almost this price alone. So my question: Is this a good buy??? or is this something that is to good to be true. If so would someone mind letting me know where I could find a good manufactured y pipe that won't cost me an arm or leg...?

DO NOT BUY THE STONE POS, that is the worst crap ever. I purchased these exact same setup for 300 shipped and it did not bolt up to the stock manifolds, as i was looking to sell the headers and use the y pipe.

As well the labor is about 6.5 hours toatal to install these if you arent doing it yourself. people have posted that they have shorter times but just let it go. If your gonna get headers look at cattman. if you are gonna get a y pipe get with dallas @ Warpspeed & tell him your from the org and you need in on the y pipe deal for 160. shipping is 15$ and its a perfect fit, unlike the stone bs.

He also sells a high flow pipe on ebay but dynos havent been done comparing them. I went with the standard flow one and i am VERY happy.

I did a poll and the results came out saying budget or warpspeed Y-pipes. The 2 y-pipes are just about the same almost, some like budget better others dont. so I fI was you I would go with those 2 MAIN brands, there are others out there but like I said recent poll proved them most popular.

I love my WSP. Just got under my car, 1 year and 18K miles later, it is still in darn near new condition, no rust what so ever, and I live in Indianapolis/Columbus, so it has seen its share of snow (not a garage queen!)

i dont have one yet, but have been looking and reading on them for a long time.

WSP- might have the bees in a can sound (rare), but good fitment and sound
Budget- no bees, nice fitment and great sound (this is what im getting)
CE- Cheaper, good fitment and decent sound
Stillen- expensive, sometimes ok fitment, bees in the can bad
Super Flo- new product with no flex-section ie no BIAC. fitment and sound are unknown since i haven't heard of anyone that actually has one

am i missing anything guys? am i wrong? pretty sure this sums it up

Dude, I got a used Budget Y pipe that I will sell you for 100 + shipping. The only reason its not on my car is cuz I got Cattman headers. They take 6+ hours to install.

Very expensive endeavor.

I was also looking at the stone mountain racing header combo. Is there anybody else that has gotten these. Another member told me that the headers he got were a perfect fit. So if there is anybody else who has tried these let us know.

What does eveyone think about the cattman headers/downpipe combo on the website? Ive been hearing some really good reviews on them. They say that they are for racing purposes only, Im really thinking of getting them, but Im not gonna race with them. Opinions please.

when eliminating factory cats, you cant verily market the item for everyday use. If you have smog or inspection you should still pass, you just have to allow longer time for the main catalytic to warm up as the precats are eliminated. Nothing to worry about just to be mindful of.

Youll note majority of all your mods from altezzas to these pipes will usually have that disclaimer. Glad amps dont come with that
