hi, i recently installed a stillen intake in my 99. i had a hard time getting the temperature sensor into the intake. The temp. sensor wire wasn't long enough to fit into the intake. The instructions said to trim wire back until the i had enough length, but it seemed like the wire just wasn't long enough. After a while i got the sensor in, but its a really tight fit. Just wondering if anyone else had that problem and what they did.
Thanks

It's on the side of the top half of the stock airbox on a 99. When I got my Stillen, it didn't have a spot to mount the sensor (bought it used, wrong year) so I had to drill a hole in the front. I bent the bracket that holds the plug and relocated it so that the wires would reach.

You must be mistaken

The 97 and up Maximas do not have an air temperature sensor, and this should not have anything to do with the intake install. My advice to you would be to get the right version of the intake for your car.

Sorry, I meant "95", not "99" for the sensor location.

I just taped the sensor down underneath the cone, right next to it. Works fine.

97

When I did mine, I took (what I thought was) the air sensor out of the duct and wire tied it to the harness that runs on the front of the driver's side strut tower.

I took the boost sensor off the front of the duct and wire tied that to the wire harness that runs up the drivers side of the valve cover.

No problems.

When I installed my CAI on my 1997 SE, I had some kind of sensor that was mounted in the air assembly. And the Place Racing intake had a precut hole to mount the sensor into the intake. So I'm not sure about the 99's but my 97 did have an air temperature sensor for the intake and place racing realized this too.

Hey dude, Since it looked like plain old 18 guage wire that connects to the sensor, I just cut the wires going to the sensor and added a piece of eighteen guauge wire to extend it. I used good quality crimp on connectors and wrapped them to seal out the moisture. Worked like a charm
