ABS problems

My 1999 Maxima SE supposedly has ABS but when I slam on the breaks the tires lock. I don't feel the kick back on the pedal at all. I also have a 2000 Pathfinder with ABS on all wheels and I can definitely tell the difference. No warning lights come on and no ECU error codes are present. I was told that I have 4 wheels ABS but how do I know for sure and how do I know it works? If you have any thoughts please share them. Thanks

when you start the car, do you have an ABS light? if you do, you have ABS, but may have a faulty module. if not, you don't have ABS, buddy.
