Knock Sensor relating to performance
Knock Sensor relating to performance
I just got a 0325 code back which was knock sensor 1 circuit malfunction. I have noticed since i got the car that right off the line if i power brake to 2 and drop it my car hesitates, and also at around 3k my car loses a little bit of power. I was wondering how much of this could be blamed on the knock sensor. And if i were to buy it and replace it myself how i would go about doing that.
Thank you for any help you can provide,
Mike

No, as long as it's tight enough to hold it down well.
I used a universal jointed socket and a 14" extension, and had no trouble putting a little torque on it. What did you use?

I used an 1/8" dr ratchet handle and a 12mm socket. I found that if I put the socket on first then set the ratchet into the socket it was easier. I didn't use any extension.
Am I misinformed or is replacing a blown knock sensor not supposed to increase power below 3000 RPM's because if anything it seemed like it helped more around 3000-5500 RPM's. I feel a serious pick up in power at almost exactly 3 a little before.
