Need some input

ok while im driving say between 35-50 mph i'd say, maybe once or twice a week i get a pulling releasing, pulling releasing maybe 3-4 times in a row like ur accelerating for a second then letting go of the pedal then doing it again and again. And when this occurs i look down at rpm's and its going from 1500 to 2000 then like i said, up down up down. like its knocking.

PS. this has never happened before. Also last month cel came on, checked codes, got a ks and an o2 sensor reading. As soon as i got those codes i replaced knock, (but not the o2 yet), tightened throttle cables, and cleaned throttle body

i cant think of any it could be, input would be appreciated. thanks -jeff-

Depending on the conditions and engine load, the transmission could just be hunting between 3rd and 4th gear.

Try driving with "OD Off" in those conditions and see if the hunting goes away.

I have the same sort of thing going on, similar, but not the same. I'm 5spd also, I am going to change the plugs since they need it any way.

Any issues involving random running problems can sometimes be traced to the poor routing of the EGI harness. It's difficult to see whether or not any of these wires are actually broken because they usually leave the insulation intact and just seperate the copper wires inside. I chased a random running problem on a 97 GLE for over 20 hours before I bypassed 2 EGI harness wires all the way back to the ECU and that finally fixed it. Nissan has a TSB for this issue. If anyone has access to these it explains (although in not much detail...thanks, Nissan) this issue some more.
