I installed some aftermarket bulbs only to notice that one headlight seems brighter than the other or is the "brighter" bulb just in need of some alignment? any help is appreciated.

Switch them, right to left and left to right and see what happens; It seems like passenger side is always a little higher to see signs. If that doesn't work then you have to reaim you headlights; park car 25 feet away from a white wall or garage door, measure height from floor to center of your headligh, mark that same measurement on wall, make another mark 4 inches lower on wall and that's where your lights should be.
Good luck.
