what are symtoms of bad knock sensor?
I've had a stalling problem for the past month. The stealership said they hooked it up to a scan tool even though there was no check eng light on. They said there were no codes and they couldnt replicate the prob. They said they cleaned the throttle body. Since I am still having the problem I did some of the easier fixes. Replaced the coolant temp sensor last weekend - didn't fix the problem. Today I removed and cleaned the IACV - real dirty. Noticed inside the hole, from where I removed the IACV, was real funky too. Should it still be that dirty if the stealership cleaned the throttlebody? Cleaning the IACV didnt fix prob either. Took it for a 6 mile roundtrip to the store - cut out 3 times at traffic lights - got home and the exhaust smelled different - almost a rotten egg smell, but not that strong. Any ideas? Could it be the knock sensor? What are the symtoms?

Yeah it cuts off when slowing to a stop or at low speed like in a parking lot. So, it could be the cat? The first time it hesitated was actually at highway speed 65-70. Since then my wife has only driven it to work, which is fortunately on 6 miles roundtrip. Would a bad cat throw a CEL?
