Intake Loudness

Does anyone have a sound clip of how a stillen hi-flow air intake sounds? I'm split between buying it or getting tints. Since I drive a lot the noise could get annoying if its very loud... Thanks

i have a stillen intake with midpipe. it gets a little loud if under load and after 3000 rpm. but under normal driving its barely noticeable. it has a nice drone to it tho but thats just me.

I have a Weapon-R midpipe with cone filter. Sounds good. Has a nice growl when I floor it. Under normal driving I can hear it whistling.

+1, under normal driving a small whistle is noticable. sound is apparent at 3/4 to full throttle (high end rpm range rather).

for normal driving you probuly wont hear it at all if you do very little. But when you get one it your car will scream especially around red line.

Buy the Injen CAI. It's about $100 more, but well worth it. My personal experience with the Stillen intake was that it annoyed the crap out of me! It's very drony, and had more of a raw sound to it. Even in 5th gear, if you stayed in gear to accelerate a little it droned way to much with a dull-like sound. After a year, I replaced it with the Injen CAI. The sound is much better, crisper, and cleaner, and meaner. I thoroughly enjoy it now and have gotten many compliments from people wondering what is under there. I know the Stillen is supposed to be louder, but it was the sound quality I hated. The Injen CAI took care of that.

well ive had just a stillen intake untill recently when i put in my ebay midpipe last weekend. my car went from sounding decently mean with the stillen- it had a burble kinda sound when at wot and over 3.5k; to sounding just beastly as it does now. after putting my midpipe on and removing all the resonaters the sound in the cabin of the car actually decreased but outside of the car is when you can really hear it growl. and as far as the sound goes with the midpipe on now its at a level well past growl. its more like a man scream yelling i will eat your face. its that intimidating. i love my vq so much more now and all my 4 cylinder friends are afraid of me. its nice.
