Lights dim when braking

Has anyone experienced a problem with thier headlights dimming when applying the brakes at night? They also dim when using the windows? Any place I should be looking for a ground issue?

There could be a problem with the brake booster but most likely the alternator

the whole light dimming thing is pretty common in japanese made cars. every japanese car that i have owned has done this. i usually wind up changing the alternator and battery sooner or later and it still does it so i just live with it.
