new power antenna an easy install?
new power antenna an easy install?
Went to the automatic car wash, forgot that the antenna was up till it was to late. Pretty much broke it all the way off at the bottom. Just wondering if anyone else besides me has done the same thing and if its an easy fix. The radio works fine without it, but I still want it fixed. By the way, its a 99 if it makes any difference. Thanks.
remove bezel, turn on radio, remove old mast, feed in new mast gear strip and turn off radio, replace bezel. If the old mast was deformed and is hard to remove, that will be the hardest part.

That's a good website; check it out. You'll probably just need a mast, but depending on how bad the damage is, you may need a whole new antenna motor, but if you're lucky you can find one on eBay or just get one from a junkyard.
