Are there brackets that hold the Intake, cause mine wobbles??
WHats up.. I have a custom Intake, i guess hi-flow, its a K&N filter, with the adapter. Anyways, When it was installed, i replaced the stock filter box, but then its not bolted on to the car anytmore, so it wobbles when u drive, and i think hits the hood. is there anythign i can do to stablize it??
thanks
thanks
i got one w/ my JWT intake... u can probably make one. basically make a bracket w/ one end bolting on to one of the holes from the stock box and then the other end to one of the 4 bolts that your adapter bolts onto the MAF
when i installed my hks intake, i just had to get a clamp and tighten it all the way... there is a little metal piece sticking out the bottom of the body where the stock airbox used to be, just make sure you clamp the intake around that little nudge and you should be fine!
I got a bracket with my Weapon*R intake. They shouldnt be hard to make though like someone else said. Check with the company you bought it from maybe they just forgot to send it to you. Weapon*R did this to me. My filter rubbed for a while until I got my bracket and put it on. Take Care
You can pick up some backstrapping that audio shops use to fabricated mounts for speakers and headunits. It's like a metal ruler stick with holes down the middle. You can use it to support the intake from the MAF adapter to one of the factory intake bolt holes. It's pretty stiff stuff but can be bent to adjust for any odd angles necessary. I'm not sure if they carry this stuff at hardware stores but I'm certain they carry it at audio shops.
made a custom...
I had to make a custom adapter to attatch the filter. But the entire intake then wobbled after I removed the stock box, so what I did was made a little metal plate that bolter to the intake and to the body, and it keeps it from wobbling.
It was a pain in the a$$ though!
