ATTENTION: Warpspeed is finally taking orders for the new style sub-frame connectors

ive been calling warpspeed every week for about 2 months now waiting for them to finally say the new kits are ready. finally, last week i called and they told me that they are taking orders now, and the kits will most likely be ready for shippment in two weeks. they gave me a price for the first 30 days. i dont remeber EXACTLY what the price for stage 1 was, either $150-$175, stage 2 was $25, and i belive shipping was another $37.

i know some of you guys have been waiting a long time now, just like me, so i figured i might as well pass on the information to you all. ill be ordering mine next week.

stage one of this kit gets welded onto the bottom of your car. stage 2 is "x" braces that get bolted onto the stage1 kit, and forms an actual frame for the unibody.. this kit eliminates body flex in the cabin, resulting in greater handling, and more imortanly, driver comfort. its also said to eliminate alot of common rattles that are found in our cars too.. check out warspeed's site for a better description. ALSO, there is a VERY DETAILED thread floating around here somewhere with alot of reviews on this product. mabye somebody can do a search and provide a link to it on here???? people rave about this product. "best suspension mod ever" i think one of the quotes were..

i belive the biggest difference is the material being used. i think what they did this time around was use an aircraft grade alluminum tube, to cut down on the weight.

you can go onto the warpspeed site and see pics and read a review. those are all about the original kits, although other than weight reduction, i cant see there being any other big difference between the two.
these should be the number 1 suspension mod on anybodys list.

I talked to Dallas at Warpspeed last week about my y-pipe and he told me to keep an eye on the org for the SFCs availability but Im not sure if he was intending on a group deal. I could call and ask him unless someone else is already working on this.

I just spoke to Dallas

He says they have done some things to lighten them a bit. Its nothing spectacular I don't think but these things are meant to be rigid not lightweight. Only the Stage II is lighter. I don't know if he said all or only the stage II was stainless. But certainly some of it is stainless. Maybe this attributes to the weight reduction.

He also said a GD is in the works. When I called they were in the process of making them. Be patient people...

Edit: I would imagine only the Stage II is stainless. Having the Stage I stainlees would make installation more difficult for DYI'ers.

According to the nice lady I spoke with @ WSP about this, they were revised to make it easier to take them off when you need to work under the car.

BIG OL' BUMP

Just came across this thread and I am IN. I've been wanting SFCs for a year. Does anyone have any up-to-date info on when these will be available? Is WSP or someone going to start a GD or do we have to call to place our order?

AIN'T NOTHIN' LIKE A STIFF CHASSIS!

Hey Broan, would it be better to do the chassis stiffening foam first or SFCs first? I'm thinking foam first. I gotta get back on that.

Here's the main link (Sport Compact Car article, scroll down): http://www.sportcompactcarweb.com/pr...scc_proj300zx/

Also, I see there was a recent discussion on the Org about it: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?p=3906175

Here's an old discussion where the webmaster claims that Hathane is the proper type of foam:

Tom, it would definitely be better to do SFC's first. If you used foam first in that area it certainly has a chance of lighting up when you weld on it. Remember how I filled my trunk with foam to stop rattling. That **** lit right up when I was plasma cutting the lid. It made some nasty smoke that probably killed some brain cells.
