Aftermarket Headlights

Is there a difference between the stock headlight and an aftermarket one? I need to replace mine because theres some white stuff on it I cant get off for some reason... Is it a good idea to get one of those OEM housings off of ebay for around $54 shipped?

It is a matter of quality, OEM 97-99 headlights are around $210 a pop, aftermarket lights were only $85 a pop when my car was @ the bodyshop. Basically you get what you pay for. Go w/Cefiros if you're going to do anything w/your headlights!

they will probely fit just fine.....but the beam patten of the headlight will not be 100% as good as stock. it will look the same, and if you take car of them last the same lenth about... but the beam pattern will jsut be alittle off.

do not go with cefiro until you look into it, and see the negitive and positive sides of it.

Besides the minor gap problem, what are the negative aspects of cefiros?

Is the aftermarkets 97-99 alot more clear than the OEM 95-96? If so, I'd rather buy those!

does he have to change bumpers to swap lights between years? or is that only to change grilles?

I bought my '97/99s several years ago. The place was carlamps.com but I am pretty sure they are defunct now. Carlamps used to post threads in the group deal section. The prices were incredible. I forget what I paid but they work and look fine. The finish on the plastic housing when you pop your hood is not the best (one of mine is tan, one is grey) but when the hood is closed they look/perform fine.

I dont understand the hype with Cefrios, bad fitment issues and to me looks very odd.

i might just get the 99's head lamps, if I can find them cheaper than Cefiros. Honestly I love the Cefiros aggressive look, but if I can get very clear stock/OEM head lamps for a better price that doesn't need to convert socket/wire harness/bulbs then I'd much rather get the new stock headlamps. My friend went from having his 96' head lamps replaced with 98's and that made a huge difference. He didn't swap out the bulbs, he kept the same ones and they looked a lot better. His old head lamps were yellowish, so I'm sure that's where it made the lights look a bit dim.
